Admission Criteria

Addiction treatment requires precise medical oversight from day one. At Belaku Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore, we execute a strict, transparent clinical triaging process to guarantee that every individual receives the appropriate level of medical and psychological care. Our admission protocols are governed entirely by clinical necessity and adhere to the rigorous standards of the Mental Healthcare Act (MHCA), 2017.

• Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation: Prior to admission, all prospective residents undergo a thorough psychiatric assessment. This allows our clinical team to diagnose active substance use disorders and identify any co-occurring mental health conditions (dual diagnosis).
• Medical Clearance for Detoxification: Patients presenting with acute, life-threatening physical conditions must be stabilized at a primary medical hospital. Once medically cleared, they are securely transferred to our facility for supervised withdrawal and long-term rehabilitation.
• Consent-Driven Admission: We strongly prioritize voluntary admissions where the individual actively consents to the recovery process. In cases of severe incapacitation, supported admissions are executed under strict legal protocols mandated by the MHCA to protect the patient's well-being.
• Clinical Exclusion Criteria: To maintain a secure psychological environment for all residents, we do not admit individuals exhibiting active, uncontrollable violent behavior that poses an immediate risk to themselves or our staff, until they are psychiatrically stabilized.
